Computerized Tutoring Laboratory's Policy and Regulations
for Students
Students whose behavior is inappropriate will be asked to leave the lab
and may be subject to appropriate disciplinary action including suspension
of computer use privileges.
This lab is for City Colleges of Chicago students only and for other programs/students
authorized by the Lab Manager. Users must have a current student I.D.
and show it to lab staff upon request. High school and Elementary school students
are no longer authorized to use the CTC.
One student per computer (unless directed otherwise by lab staff). Absolutely
no talking, no groups, no socializing, flirting, joking, etc.
Labs may be used for class related activities only.
Use of the Internet should be for class work only and nothing else. The
Internet may not be used for commercial purposes. Displaying, forwarding or
printing offensive materials is prohibited and. Visiting Chat Rooms is prohibited.
No devices of any kind may be brought into the labs or plugged into the
computers. Uploading or downloading unauthorized programs is prohibited. You
may not use your own CD-ROM.
Computers and programs are the exclusive property of the college. Altering
computer setup; installing, copying or deleting software is prohibited.
Students need to purchase a printing card to print their documents at 0.10 cents per copy. A first time card purchase is $1.00. Thereafter, the students may recharge their printing card at 0.10 cent per copy
It is understood that if any of the labs are needed for classes, the class has priority over walk-in students. Students are not allowed to be in a computer classroom while a class is being conducted. Students will be directed to room L114 (The Homework Laboratory) or they will be directed to any of the other Truman College open laboratories.
Non-Students and/or Registered Students are not allowed to stay inside
a lab when the lab is closed.
Students must have some knowledge of computer software. Staff assistance
will be limited during busy times.
Playing computer games is not allowed.
No cellular phones, walkmans, music CD's.
No food or drinks in the Lab.
No Children allowed in the Lab (unless otherwise specified by the Director
or Lab Manager).

Computerized Tutoring Laboratory's Policy and Regulations
for Instructors
Instructors must be present to supervise & work with their
students at all times during the entire class period.
INSTRUCTORS should acquaint themselves with the software programs in the
CTC and help their students to use the software programs.
Classes are scheduled for 55 minutes only!
When necessary, instructors will be asked to share or alternate
their scheduled time with other instructors. In addition, instructors will
be asked to share, upon availability, the computers with walk-in
students.
Class reservations for the next semester will be taken during the last
two weeks of the current semester. First come first served depending on availability
of time slots. Instructors might have to alternate every other week. There
are no exceptions. Please allow 5 business days for reservation
confirmation.
Instructors will receive a confirmation of reservation via campus mail.
Please allow five working days for processing. Either a valid phone number
with voice mail or an e-mail address is required when filling-out the Reservation
Form. Reservations are required at all times for group use of the
lab.
If an instructor fails to attend his/her Regular Weekly appointment
without calling us at 907-4849/91, his/her scheduled time will be cancelled
to accommodate other instructors.
