Truman Middle CollegeEstablished in the academic year of 1984/85, Truman Middle College is an alternative high school that provides students 16 to under 21 years of age, who have dropped out of high school, a second chance to complete their high school education. The Middle College is accredited by the North Central Association of Secondary School and Colleges and it is authorized by the State of Illinois to issue a Secondary Diploma.

The Middle College High School, located at Truman College, offers courses in all core subject areas. Classes are small, allowing teachers to work personally with each student. The staff is trained to evaluate students' individual emotional and academic problems and to structure an environment in which the student will flourish. Those Middle College students who exhibit a commitment to attendance and academic pursuit may, with the permission of the principal, take college courses, for which students earn both high school and college credits. Another benefit of the high school's location is the presence of Truman College students who provide positive role models for Middle college students.

Truman Middle CollegeAll students who make application to Truman Middle College must be current high school dropouts; transfer students are not accepted. All students must be aware that Truman Middle College has limited space, and not all applicants can be accepted.
