Welcome to the Truman College Self-Study and Accreditation Website

Over the last two and a half years, Truman College has been involved in an extensive self-study - a method of self-assessment and reflection undertaken to maintain the highest standards of teaching, learning, and institutional accountability. We conducted the self-study in preparation for an accreditation visit by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association on March 22 – 24, 2010.

The HLC team will consist of faculty and administrators from institutions across the country who will verify items in the Self-Study Report, observe different areas of the college, and talk with Truman College students, faculty, staff, administrators, community members, the Chancellor, and the City Colleges of Chicago's Board of Trustees. At the conclusion of their visit, the team will provide a summary of their findings and preliminary recommendations. Later, the team will submit a final report to the HLC Board for approval.

Truman students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community members are encouraged to take part in the visit by reading the Self-Study Report, which is available on this website for your review. We also encourage you to welcome the team members and share your thoughts with them during their visit. We are proud of the work that has been done on the reaccreditation process by the entire Truman community and are confident that our efforts will make us a stronger and more effective institution of higher learning.
