Chicago Public School Bridge Program
Junior or Seniors enrolled at a Chicago Public High School can take college classes at Truman for free while still attending high school.Call (773) 907-4000 for more information, and start your future today!
Why Participate?
- Complete up to 75% of your Freshman year in college before you graduate high school.
- Earn 1/2 high school elective credit for each college course you take.
- Get a true college experience by taking classes with regular college students.
- Tuition, textbooks, laboratory fees, and public transportation are all FREE!
What are the eligibility requirements?
- You are entering your Junior or Senior year at a CPS High School
- Your GPA is at least 2.5 / 4.0
- Your high school attendance rate is 90% or higher
- You test into college level English and/or college level math on Truman's Placement Exam
How do I sign up?
- Contact your high school CPS Bridge counselor
- Complete a Recommendation and Screening Form
- Obtain a copy of your high school transcript
- Select courses from the flagged choices in the current Truman Schedule of classes
- Apply online for admission to Truman College as a CREDIT student
- Take your placement test in the Assessment Center, room L912. (You'll need a photo ID)
- Make an appointment to meet with the CPS Bridge Advisor in room

- select classes
- receive an orientation
- receive book vouchers.
- NOTE: Bring all paperwork from CPS with you to this meeting
