Chicago Public School Bridge Program at Truman College

Why Participate?

• Complete up to 75% of your Freshman year in college before you graduate high school.
• Earn 1/2 high school elective credit for each college course you take.
• Get a true college experience by taking classes with regular college students.
• Tuition, textbooks, laboratory fees, and public transportation are all FREE!

What are the eligibility requirements?

• You are entering your Junior or Senior year at a CPS High School
• Your GPA is at least 2.5 / 4.0
• Your high school attendance rate is 90% or higher
• You test into college level English and/or college level math on Truman's Placement Exam

How do I sign up?

• Contact your high school CPS Bridge counselor
• Complete a Recommendation and Screening Form
• Obtain a copy of your high school transcript
• Select courses from the flagged choices in the current Truman Schedule of classes
• Apply online for admission to Truman College as a CREDIT student
• Take your placement test in the Assessment Center, room L912. (You'll need a photo ID)
• Make an appointment to meet with the CPS Bridge Advisor in room 1112 to
  • review test results
  • select classes
  • receive an orientation
  • receive book vouchers.
  • NOTE: Bring all paperwork from CPS with you to this meeting

You are strongly encouraged to study for the placement exam. A copy of the study guide is available online or in the Admissions and Advising Office in room 1112. You must test into college level English and Math to be eligible for this program.
