Ways to Pay for College

Looking for a way to pay for college? We can help you. See below, and then contact our office of Financial Aid for more information. Don't forget to Apply to Truman!

Financial Aid

Qualified students can receive up to $4500 in grants each year. Grants do not need to be repaid! Apply now for maximum eligibility at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Be sure to include the Truman College school code: 001648.

Partial Payment Plan

Truman College offers a partial payment plan giving students the option of spreading the cost of tuition over several months. To enroll, go to our payment plan site.

Scholarships

Search the CCC Scholarship Database for some of the dozens of scholarships available to you as a Truman Student, based on need, merit, course of study, ethnic group, gender, etc.

Hope Tax Credit

Students or parents may claim a Hope credit of up to $1650 on their income taxes for tuition expenses paid during a calendar year. A tax credit reduces the amount of income tax you may have to pay. (Unlike a tax deduction, which reduces the amount of income subject to tax, a tax credit directly reduces the tax itself.) Here are the details:

  • Student must be pursuing an undergraduate degree or other recognized education credential
  • Student must be enrolled at least half time (6 credits) for at least one academic period during the year.
  • The Hope Tax Credit is only available for 2 years per each eligible student
  • For more information, visit the www.irs.gov website.
