AAWCC Truman Chapter

Truman College Chapter Wins National Model Program Award

The Truman College Chapter of the AAWCC was the 2007-2008 recipient of the Model Program Award, bestowed by the National AAWCC Association. The award was given in recognition of Truman's Recognition Award Program, which grants numerous scholarships annually to women who have demonstrated determination and commitment to their education, career, and personal goals and who have struggled to overcome obstacles in their lives in order to achieve these goals. The Recogntion Award has been a program at Truman College for the past 12 years.

The award was presented to Ellen Sellergren, AAWCC-Truman Chapter President, during the annual conference in Philidelphia this past Spring.

Mission Statement

The American Association for Women in Community Colleges is guided in all of its endeavors by a firm commitment to equality, equity, and excellence in education and employment for women in community, junior, and technical colleges. That commitment is translated into action at the national, regional, state, and local levels through AAWCC programs, activities, and services.

The AAWCC Truman College Local Chapter is open to all administrative, professional, and clerical staff, faculty, and students from all divisions and programs at Truman College.
